Gilles

UNESCO recognized the Carnival of Binche as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on the 7th of November, 2003.
That day marked as a turning point in Binche’s folklore. Binche was the first European carnival to earn this honorable title.
Its traditional and popular character makes the carnival human, alive and unique.
This year I was invited to come and celebrate their 20 years of recognition. A truly heartwarming and unique experience.
As they say in Binche: “Il n’y a qu’un Binche au Monde."
